Good Grief-where has February gone?

Unexpected MAJOR snowfall, recurring illnesses, and a shorter month to begin with has left us here on the 20th with no posts and no new pictures-so very sorry!!!

Here’s a Smoke Signal French Provincial Full size bed-it does come with regular rails but we are enjoying the new for-display-only ones.

New Things in the Shop this week

Miss Evie and I are holding down the fort this week.  Miss Sophia went and sold all kinds of furniture before embarking on a week’s vacation in Mexico!  (We are not complaining about her selling all those pieces of furniture but we might be a little jealous of the Mexican vacation-lol!) You all know furniture is a bit harder to find this time of year, right?

I have found a few pieces lately so here are the two latest:

A vintage Mersman Drum table in GF's Millstone - love!!

A vintage sewing cabinet in GF's Lampblack with glass knobs added

P. S. Thanks to Mel for the cabinet-she turned out pretty good, huh??

A new vintage dresser in GF’s Millstone

I love chalk paint – we all do –  but I also love General Finishes’ Milk Paint – this color is MIllstone which we chose to offset the gorgeous handles on this dresser.  (The last time I featured a piece done in their milk paint the company called to see if we wanted to stock it – very flattering but not feasible at this time.)

This is a lovely vintage dresser that I bought the second I saw it even with the tired, scratched finish – yep, the handles got me and the rest didn’t matter.  Upon further investigation, I fell in love with the lines, the drawers – one has a removable change holder and one is deep with cedar lining – and as always, the wooden casters and the craftsmanship.  No markings as to who made it – too bad.  (I try to have the hubby double check me so that I don’t buy a huge “project” but this one was loaded before he even saw it – he grumbled a little until he unloaded it and then agreed it was a good purchase!)

Lovely hardware!

Beautiful lines!

A little styling – needs a lamp!

Both hubby and I agree we love this milk paint – it covers beautifully, goes on like “butta” and waxes to a soft sheen.  We will continue to use it!

New Black Vanity in the shop

Found this piece while in Sherwood with our daughter recently doing some garage-saling. (Is that a word?)  Loved the lines and the hardware which hubby says is made in Germany.  Wish we had the key!

This piece was to have been a different color until we realized that  candle wax residue was bleeding thru the lighter paint.   We opened my brand new can of General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint and off we went.  I think the color really showcases the almost jewelry like drawer pulls.  Certainly was easy to paint and sealed the residue away from the finish.  Love the lines and the curves and the mirror and the three drawers and…..
