A beautiful, sweet feminine little floral lamp….

just arrived in the shop!  Isn’t is just the sweetest with the little flowers, the scallops on both the shade and the lamp?  Soft muted colors

Beautiful design, lovely gold trim

But the very best thing about it….

There is a twin!

A matched set for a dresser or bedside tables – hard to come by often in this business.  Have a terrific weekend!  ~S~

UPDATE:  Miss Rosie could NOT resist and they are going to a loving new home-thank you Miss Rosie!!

Another Black Duncan Phyffe Dining Table and Chairs

This style is slightly different than the last one we had but we are interested to see how long it may be in the store before finding a new home.  More the type we typically find, it is lovely repainted black with the seats covered in a gorgeous Waverly fabric.

I think the backs of these chairs are even prettier than the ones with the other set seen here.

Looking forward to a much cooler weekend and with the hint of fall on the way, can school be far behind for the kiddos?  ~S~

UPDATE:  Omigoodness-took a whole 11 days to sell!  (Only because the banks were closed on Saturday when they saw it and we were closed the next two days.)  I knew it would find a new home – as did some of the set’s neighbors in the shop all to the same family.  Thank you for all your purchases!!  Sorry to the gentleman who was a few minutes too late-we are looking for more.

My take on Joan’s idea – thank you for the inspiration!

Joan of Anything Goes Here had an inspired idea that I thought wonderful but where was I going to find a gutter end cap?  (And just exactly what is a gutter end cap?)

Found one at an estate sale in Portland and here is the result. Mine was just nasty and not nicely rusted and aged so I went a different direction.

Joan has all the details on how to make it on her blog.  I painted mine with a fleckstone paint and decided this little birdie fit in it perfectly!

Thanks for sharing the idea, Joan-I love it!!  ~S~

Another fast makeover for a little magazine/lamp table

This one was in pretty good shape but frankly, the finish was tired and I am NOT into stripping furniture anymore unless it is a treasure for ME!!

The perfect size to tuck next to a favorite comfy reading chair, holds a bunch of magazines, room for a lamp and a beverage and/or snack!  Small entryway?  Great size for your keys and the mail!  Perhaps a vase of flowers….

And after – TA DA!

Have a great weekend!

UPDATE:  Left for a new home yesterday, 8/28/09.  Treat her nicely please and thank you!

She’s back in town to stay

and she loves the things in this store.  Grandma Sadie looked up at a little sound today and around the corner came her pride and joy!  Almost 21 months old and fascinated with the things she finds in the shop-truly a girl after her grandma’s heart!!

What girl doesn’t love pearls!

She loves the Bunny Detergent box

So many things for playing house!!

And what could make a grandma happier than the news that her second grandchild is due in February!

Someone is going to be the big sister!
