Miss Sophia got her hands on an antique sideboard and this is the result! Painted in CeCe’s Carolina Sun and then stenciled with Young Kansas Wheat over white.

The legs (and they are fabulous legs!) are painted in CeCe’s Destin Gulf Green and then dark waxed to accent the details. Miss Sophia re-stained the top and did a beautiful job!

Three weeks ago, hubby and I took a quick trip to Southern Oregon and we found this in Roseburg! Loved that it was solid wood and that the trim details were pretty much intact. All the knobs – lovely!!!

Cleaned her up, repaired a break and hubby started painting when I took a break:

After two coats of Annie Sloan’s Florence and some dark wax, voila!

In all her beauty!

Florence still makes my heart sing!

Miss Mustard Seed’s Typewriter Milk Paint

I have purchased three of MMS’s milk paints and twice I have been disappointed – only because it didn’t chip on its own. I adore the colors and how it goes on my pieces and how beautifully it distresses with sandpaper and how gorgeous the pieces are with a little wax – but they didn’t chip…..

Finally – I didn’t over sand and the paint chipped and crackled – hurray!!! (Outside in the bright sun-sorry for the shadowy pictures)

oh – a little chippiness!

A lot more and some peeling too – yay!

The finished piece with some really dark wax on it to make it look more black!

Don’t be intimidated when the pieces don’t chip on their own – distress like you always have. But when they do their own thing – pure bliss!

CeCe Caldwell’s Destin Gulf Green ~ SOLD

Reminding me so very much of ASCP’s Florence, this lovely vintage table and chair set shines in CCC’s Destin Gulf Green! The table is gorgeous to begin with and the newly re-stained top is a great contrast to the painted legs and apron. Add the pretty new fabric on the chairs and it is near perfect!

The cedar chest is new in the shop today and blends so well with the other pieces. Know what? The square table and bed are ASCP Duck Egg and the nightstand and cedar chest are CCC’s Smoky Mountain. Really – can you see a difference?!

P.S. Miss Sophia did the upholstery on the bed-pretty terrific addition to it we think!
